My fitness journey began in 2011 and I am absolutely certain that if you do not eat within thirty minutes of a workout, you will lose all of your gains. I also thought creatine was some slightly unsafe semi-steroid. I had no clue what volume was, and I just followed workouts on the internet by people selling unsuccessful programs and products. The same mentality made me believe that if I didn’t have every supplement, I was wasting my time in the gym. Progressive overload didn’t exist as a concept in my mind; training was working hard and eating food while spending all of my money on supplements that promised results.
Over the next four years in undergrad, I learned piece by piece pretty much everything I was doing was wrong. However, that money and that time never came back! During the end of my undergrad and throughout my graduate work, I found a love for exercise science, statistics, data, and the scientific method as it pertains to human performance.
No longer do I hang on every word some big guy on the internet says because he must have it all together. Instead, I turn to science, data, and fact.
Work Over Time Fitness is a company that seeks to be a scientific lighthouse in the fog that is the fitness world by writing articles on various relevant topics and helping you avoid the same mistakes I made in trusting false advertisers and buying into fads. The fitness industry is saturated with bad products being peddled by people who want a quick buck and can exploit the fact they have abs because of good genetics. People want the quick fix, and the quick “fix” sells because of its allure. There are no shortcuts; there is only science, work, and consistency.
My goal is to help athletes and dedicated people achieve their fitness goals using a science driven and researched method. Every single recommendation I give to every individual client, I have a scientific answer and studies to back it up. As knowledge in the exercise science field constantly changes, I continue to research, listen to podcasts, and gain insight so that I can be prepared for any questions you may have.
Some people sell you over-hyped, false products. Work Over Time Fitness offers evidence-based fitness practice to help you reach your goals and understand how science, work, and consistency will work best for you.
Science. Work. Consistency.
